ResponsibilitiesThe Associate will be exposed to the full life-cycle of a transaction from initial evaluation through closing documentation. Associates are key members of an investment banking team and are typically involved with many aspects of the day-to-day management of multiple projects. Associates will interface regularly with professionals at all levels within the firm, as well as directly with clients and investors and make recommendations and presentations to senior management. Associates play an integral role in transactions from start to finish. In particular, the Associate will be directly involved in the financing execution process:
- Develop strategies and databases of leads and targets for multiple client transactions
- Create, manage, and effectively explain complex financial models for revenue and income forecasts, cash flow analysis, balance sheet, and quarterly projections for client engagements
- Produce descriptive memoranda such as the drafting of Private Placement Memorandums
- Prepare pitch books for prospect meetings and assemble client or prospect presentations
- Develop exhibits that analyze comparative financial performance
- Assist with collection and review of due diligence materials (including all financial and legal)
- Research and analyze in-depth industry, company and market trends
- Organize and conduct extensive, detailed financial and valuation analysis
Associate level candidates would be expected to have 2 to 4 years of experience as an Senior Analyst and/or Associate-level position within investment banking and an undergraduate or advanced degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics. Licenses, Certifications and CFA program a definite plus. Experience working with tools such as FactSet, Cap IQ, Reuters Knowledge, Mergerstat and/or Bloomberg a plus.
It is important that the person hired for this position have some degree of innate salesmanship ability and familiarity with capital markets; be highly proficient in financial modeling; strong working knowledge of accounting, finance and business valuation fundamentals.
